Sultry Teal

Today, I set out with the goal of incorporating more color into my makeup look. I looked at all of the makeup that I own and the rich teal colors in the Morphe X Jaclyn Hill palette were calling my name!

I have used teals before like in my Lorac afterGlo eyeshadow palette but the teals in that palette are definitely more subtle. It's more of a wash of color to use on the outer part of the eyelid or under the waterline in my opinion. But the teals in Jaclyn's palette are different because you don't need to build it up for color payoff.

I knew I wanted the whole eyelid space to be covered in Pool Party and Jada. Pool Party is a duo chrome which is part gold and part aqua blue. Jada is matte teal. The difficult part was trying to figure out if I wanted the crease color to be more cool toned or more warm toned. I swatched a lot of different colors next to Pool Party and Jada to see which colors would work best. After having a swatch party all over my arm, I decided to go with warmer colors in the crease.

Don't be afraid to play with color. I suggest planning out your colors you will use or swatch them on your arm like I did. I am a very visual person, so when it comes time to apply makeup, I usually swatch different colors on my arm so I know the direction I need achieve for my final look.

I loved how the over all look came out. I felt sexy when my husband and I went out for dinner that night.

Contour:

Anastasia Beverly Hills Contour Kit | Light to Medium - used the middle shade

Bronzer:

Anastasia Beverly Hills Contour Kit | Light to Medium - mixed the bottom left and right sade

Blush:

E.L.F Blush Palette | Light -used the top right blush
