Glam Dragon: What I Actually Wore On Halloween 17'

Since I am a first grade teacher, I wanted my Halloween costume to extra comfy this year. It is no fun when you are trying to setup Halloween activities for your students and your costume keeps getting in the way.

As I was walking in Target in their sleepwear section, I found this teal, fleece lined, dragon onesie. I have seen other teachers wear onesies in the past for Halloween but I thought that it would be too hot to wear all day long. I loved this dragon onesie since it wasn't too thick. The rose gold accents found on the wings, spikes and horns gave it that extra girly touch. The onesie even had dramatic eyelashes which many people noticed. The only con I would say was, the all over pattern for the scales. It reminded me of a mermaid tail.

Target did sell black dragon foot slippers which did look cute with the costume but I wanted it to be more of a costume and less sleepwear looking. So instead I paired the onesie with gold flats that I brought for my wedding day which I used to switch into from a long night of dancing. Honestly, this really helped bring the costume together. It made it look more like a glam dragon.

TIP: Make sure to take the extra time to style your costume like you would style any of your regular outfits. It will give your costume that extra sparkle it needs.

Clothing:

I couldn't stop there!

I love doing my nails whenever I get the chance. So I looked through my nail polish collection to find colors that matched my costume. I found two colors that worked perfectly! I used one of my smaller pointed dotting tools to create all of the dots on both hands. To give my nails a twist, I painted my other hand with the opposite colors. My students noticed this extra touch to the outfit right away.

The night before Halloween, I took the time to setup all of makeup on my desk. I am NOT a morning person and didn't want to worry about finding my makeup when I was barely awake. This really helped since it allowed my to calmly look through all of my makeup and somewhat plan how I was going to create a glam dragon.

On Halloween, I got so many compliments on my makeup and outfit. And the best part was that I was wearing pjs all day!
